Ms. Kathrin Marchenko

Creating art is my way of bringing organized chaos to life through a unique combination of thread shades.I prefer working with tulle, as its transparency adds depth and volume to the embroidery, making each piece visually rich.My creative process is spontaneous yet deliberate. I rarely make sketches before starting; inspiration comes in the form of specific images, like an eye or a fish, and I begin by creating contours.I’m drawn to bright, vibrant colors and enjoy harmonizing them into a cohesive palette. I find inspiration in the success of others, particularly when witnessing an artist’s journey from idea to completion. This creative progression is a powerful motivator for my own work. Films, books, and exhibitions also play a significant role in fueling my desire to create. My journey into embroidery began in 2016, inspired by embroidered dresses from designers like Valentino and Elie Saab.In 2017, I attended Ecole Lesage in Paris, where I learned Luneville embroidery, a technique that continues to influence my work.
