Karisa Villas
About IsabelleI’ve lived and worked in Bali for over 25 years, creating spaces from concept to completion —villas, boutique hospitality, retail interiors, and renovations in Los Angeles and Hawaii. For more than two decades, I owned and operated Villa Karisa, a boutique hotel in Seminyak. Itwas more than a business — it was a place of connection. I met extraordinary people from aroundthe world, many of whom returned year after year. Over time, guests became friends. It was through these relationships that something unexpected happened. So many of them beganasking me for help — to source furniture, choose materials, refine their vision, or guide themthrough their own projects. What started as conversations by the pool slowly turned into creativecollaborations.I’m currently completing a compound of villas in Uluwatu, and over the years I’ve curated andshipped containers of furniture, art, and handcrafted pieces from Bali to projects around the world. But what has always mattered most to me is how a space feels.I’ve learned something deeply personal along the way:The space I live in affects my mood, my energy, and my wellbeing. I don’t need a palace. I needlight, calm, and beauty that feels intentional. When a space is cluttered or chaotic, I feel anxious. When it is clear and aligned, I breathe differently. The Art of Living Well retreat grew from those years of experience and connection — a space toshare not only how to build and source, but how to create environments that support your lifeemotionally and practically.
