As I Am Retreat Ubud

The Retreat Centre has been created on uncultivated land owned by a local high priest, Pandita. Used as a rice field up to the beginning of the century it had been left fallow and became overgrown, providing the natural contours and vegetation of the centre.Many of original trees have been left in situ with some replanted and yet others recycled into construction material and furniture.All houses and buildings are built in the traditional Javanese style house called Limasan house with a Balinese ornament called Murdha on each roof.We minimize the use of mortar and cement by using exposed red brick in all walls.
