Ximena Aketzalli Ferrín

Ximena Aketzalli Ferrín, originally from Ecuador, began her spiritual path over 30 years ago. She is recognized as a Spiritual Leader of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan, a medicine woman, a vision seeker, a sun dancer, and a lifelong learner of different spaces for healing and spiritual growth. Also a renowned actress, playwright, and acting teacher, she has developed several research projects that have led her to travel across her country, raising the ancestral memory of the “mamas and taitas” healers of the coast, mountains, and east, thus nourishing her being and her actions in ceremonies, rituals, and therapies.For years, she has also led retreats in the ceremonial space “Pachayachac de Imbabura, Ecuador,” maintains several drums and singing circles, and is the creator of powerful medicine songs. At the same time, she has been initiated into Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. Her work with master plants (ayahuasca, wachuma) has been nourished by her training as a body therapist with an emphasis on medicinal mushrooms. Through the profound wisdom she has acquired over these years and the delicate attention she places on her work, she is an impeccable guide to lead us into the depths of our being, with or without master plants, to discover our gifts and connect with the deepest part of our spirit.
