Tom Butler

Tom Butler loves Gozo and Malta, with family ties here and having spent time here since birth. He has been challenging the status quo since primary school. He has always been drawn to nature and loves the land, the sea, and the air (fresh and clean). He enjoys biking around Gozo or sitting looking out at the world.His first career in business and investment took him to the US, the UK, and Southeast Asia, where he met people across many different companies.In the late 1990s, he changed course to seek alternative systems that would serve people without the social and environmental costs that most of us face.Envisioning a more equitable future, more aligned with nature, a diverse range of activities were pursued, from growing food and fuel to hospitality, to education, to investment management, to human development, and more, to explore the reality of alternatives.With the team at Astraea, he has shared ideas through several websites, books, art installations, and speaking and training events. Tom is passionate about creating spaces where people can flourish.
