Michael’s background and achievements include: Advanced open water rescue technician Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and Sports Management National Champion and multi-medalist in pool swimming (Bogotá National Team, 2009–2015) Pan-American multi-medalist in swimming (Colombia National Team, 2010) Multiple National Champion in Open Water Swimming (San Andrés Team, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 – OceanMan) World Open Water Vice-Champion (OceanMan World Series, 2019) National Vice-Champion and multi-medalist in Paratriathlon (San Andrés Team, 2019) World Record Holder for the longest open water swim by a Paralympic athlete — 25 km Recognized as Best Paralympic Athlete and Overall Best Athlete of the Year (San Andrés, 2019)
