Merette van Hijfte

Merette van Hijfte is a performance artist dedicated to realness, silence, and reflection.After graduating from the Dutch Mime School at the Academy of Theatre and Dance, she collaborated with Jakop Ahlbom Company, De Warme Winkel, Theater Rotterdam Productions with Zarah Bracht, and performed works by Marina Abramović at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.She has worked with various artists, often exploring physical extremes and exhaustion as a way to bring both performer and audience fully into the present moment. Within this approach, she seeks simplicity, honesty, and recognition.
