Kalari Ashramam

Kalari Ashramam is a traditional residential Gurukulam set amidst the forests, lakes, and mountain ranges of Kerala — one of India's most pristine natural landscapes.The Ashramam serves as a living centre for the practice and preservation of Kalaripayattu, the ancient Indian martial art, under the direct guidance of Gurukkal Shinto Mathew.The centre spans an entire mountaintop, offering students a rare combination of rigorous physical training and deep inner stillness.With a clean AQI of 58–60, organic vegetable gardens, open-air training grounds, a traditional Kalari pit, an amphitheatre for meditation, and a natural lake, every aspect of the environment is designed to support transformation at every level.Residential students live, train, eat, and rest together within the campus, fully immersed in the Gurukul way of life.Programs range from 7-day introductory retreats to 21-day intensive mastery programs, welcoming beginners and dedicated practitioners alike.
