Waves of Culture is run by husband and wife Mario and Jamie, who live in Montezuma and share their days between the ocean and life close to nature.The retreats grew naturally from the way they live, surfing together daily, spending time immersed in the natural environment, and embracing a simple, intentional way of life.The intention is to offer guests an experience of Costa Rica that feels personal, authentic, and one of a kind. Surfing and yoga are part of daily life, supporting both the body and mind and creating balance between activity and recovery.Mario is Costa Rican, a local surf instructor, and a certified national tour guide with deep roots in the area.His familiarity with the coastline, natural spaces, and cultural traditions allows guests to experience the region through his eyes and heart, with insight, context, and ease, both in the water and beyond it.Waves of Culture is designed as a calm, supportive environment where guests can step away from routine, spend meaningful time in nature, and feel genuinely cared for throughout their stay.The focus is on quality, presence, and creating an experience that feels grounded, thoughtful, and true to this place.
