Dear Island

Dear Island is a new art retreat space in Crete, Greece. Hosted by Elina Mavrommati and Sofia Mavroudis. Elina is a true Cretan soul. Elementary teacher turned illustrator and ceramist. Recently opened her own ceramic studio and organizes small group workshops.Travels the world and has extensive experience in being hosted as well as being the one that creates the authentic Greek hospitable experience through different projects. Sofia is a Swede/Greek, from Stockholm. Art curator and cultural manager.Experienced in creating something from only an idea and has worked together with institutions, artists, municipalities, etc.10 + years experience in hospitality and have also previously worked with art residencies. Researcher of site-specificity, the exploration of how a person and their environment interact.
