Casa Arkaana

Casa Arkaana’s spaces have an earthy, ethnic, organic feel. We love to merge the inside with the outside… inviting nature in… balancing all that coziness and comfort one could ever want whilst maintaining that deep connection to the great outdoors through incorporating big, breathtaking jungle views, providing plenty of natural airflow, allowing the light to pour in whilst the heat escapes through strategic planning etc. We built and decorated all of the structures using local materials and craftsmanship wherever we could. This included upcycling trees from this land that had fallen during hurricanes, using local lime stone that the land provides to build walls and make paths, using local palm and grass fronds as roofing material etc… We also consciously supported local artisans and craftspeople (and their families) wherever this was possible in an effort to minimize the negative and maximize the positive impact on the land and the community.
