Adrianne Nightingale

Over 32 years ago, (I am now 53) I trained to be a professional dancer for 5 years.Having sustained a back injury early in training I left dance school without a career path, not much spinal mobility, and serious lower back pain!I continued to do what I could with the injury and chose to work in a frenetic and often stressful, corporate environment as a Freelance Event Manager.I trekked high-altitude mountains, and started water skiing and other board sports, but there was always something missing from my love of dance and movement and the pain was always bothersome. In 2011, I was recommended to try Yoga for my pain and I was hooked right away!Yoga became part of my rehabilitation and the injury became manageable with chronic pain diminishing, allowing me to come off prescription opiates and reduce weekly physiotherapy and spinal injections. The reason I am sharing this is to say that Yoga, or even regular mobility and movement, saved my back from surgery and a lifetime of pain or opiates!Yoga was the missing key to maintaining overall well-being.I took my Yoga teacher training in 2017 with Real Flow Yoga School, and since then I have completed numerous trainings to expand my knowledge. Now a 400hr qualified Yoga instructor in Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Senior, and Well Woman Yoga, my approach to teaching is positive and encouraging, fun and inclusive.Whilst supporting you to find ways to heal through the many benefits a regular practice can bring, my teachings embody a balance within physical postures as well as mental and spiritual transformation through positive psychology. We bring ‘Flow State’ to our lives on and off the mat.I am a Usii Level II Reiki practitioner and would love to support anyone who would benefit from the healing and revitalizing practice of Reiki. With many years in water sports, such as Slalom Water Skiing, wakeboarding, Wakeskate, Surfing, Paddleboard, and wakesurf, it was a natural progression to take Yoga to the water and I am a qualified SUP Yoga Instructor and BSUPA Paddleboard Instructor.Visit the SUP Page to find out more details.
